Guard your Heart…

Of late, I’ve been watching a few NBA games.  The recent player trades and team restructurings for this season have been interesting.  LeBron James, understandably a popular name on and off the court, has moved back to his home state and is part of a new team with big plans to win another NBA championship.  Of course, it takes time to establish team synergy and play with a rhythm; this process is reflected by their current losing streak and unstable court presence.  At a press conference after a recent loss, a particular reporter repeatedly asked LeBron how he felt about the team’s upsetting numbers, if he ever questioned his decision to move back home, the unlikelihood of ever winning the championship and such.  He asked them intermittently to which Lebron cut him short by asking why he always had to ask negative questions.  I think about this at the moment and realize the need to protect your mind and what you entertain.  It was obvious the nature of these questions were in contradiction to what Lebron believed in his heart so he chose not to entertain them.  His earnest desire to succeed was guarded, cherished and nurtured from corruption.  I think this is a good thing.

I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
