Living Together…

I’m like D.O.E, Baby girl, I don’t got a huge ol’ house, I rent a room in a house. Throughout my adult life, I’ve always lived in a shared residential capacity. I’m still en route to buying my first house so expect an announcement shortly! Till then, I am where I am and share in very interesting experiences. The state of my current household is a bit random. Everyone is different by way of nationality, occupation and passions more so, personality, habits and quirkiness. I have to say, it’s most amusing when they all interact. Whether it’s in the upkeep of a shared kitchen, general house chores or interacting on a night out, differences and similarities always come up. Sometimes this leads to cooperation, memorable conversations and happy moments. Other times, it leads to misunderstandings, resentment and unnecessary complications. Some people are simply easier to get along with while others aren’t. I see this as a reflection of the state of the world with the way we deal with the likes of trading, immigration and peace keeping. At the end of the day, I wish we could all see we are more similar than we are different and truly seek cooperation and unity. In moments like this, I hear Michael Jackson’s classic, We are the World.

I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
