Rest…

I just got back from a great holiday with my girlfriend; we spent a long weekend on a beach resort in the Mediterranean.  The view from the patio window; blue rolling waters stretched out into the distance with the clear sky in the background and birds soaring gracefully across was beautiful.  It wasn’t peak season so it wasn’t overly crowded; as such we were given quality attention and were well pampered by the hotel staff.  We made regular use of the spa and received different relaxing treatments from massages to facials to pedicures and manicures.  We did a few gym sessions, laps in the pool and relaxed in the jacuzzi.  We enjoyed tours around the island, savoured lovely cuisine and did a bit of shopping.  We also had late night walks on the beach, took loads of pictures and of course, slept really late.  It ended quick but it was fun and we had a lovely time all around.  En route back to London, I felt lighter like I was returning with less stress on my mind and more energy in my veins.  This experience reminded me of the value of rest and the need to pace myself.  Like the popular adage goes, all work and no play makes Daniel a dull boy.

I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
