So I was taking a shower in the gym yesterday when it dawned on me that I’ve been working out here for about a year now. I remember my first time and the not so pleasant experience I had with one of the gym personnel at the front desk. I felt it was unprofessional, to say the least, and that actually put me off from signing up. Instead, I went to a sister gym closer to my work place. However, few months later, I switched to this one as it was bigger and had better bathrooms than the former. Funny enough, the lady I had initially had a clash with has grown to become one of my favourite gym people. And from this relationship has come good banter, nice connections and helpful tips; perfect service in my opinion. This experience helps me better understand the popular adage, turn the other cheek. I believe doing this, picking oneself up when down or basically trying again opens the door to better things that wouldn’t have been available had one not done so. Giving another shot at the same thing is what I believe this concept relates to because once bitten doesn’t always necessarily mean twice shy. This lesson makes me smile.
I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
