Indeed, these are financial times.  Trading with a demo account over the past few months have been exciting, educative and an eye opener in more ways than one for me.  From placing a trade and watching the market go in unpredicted directions to managing positions to making and losing money have  stirred up a range of my emotions.  Currently sitting back and examining the trends in my chart, I realise how trading is very similar to life.  For one, you have to let go of what you have to get what you want.  For two, this process of letting go brings anxiety and stress that test who you really are at your core.  For three, the returns can be good or bad and you generally can’t really control which way it goes.  And for four, the results can serve as a lesson if taken as a lesson, less they will always recur till learnt.  These recent thoughts remind me of the process of life; the journey, the risk and reward of it all.  It’s impossible to get what you want without taking action regardless of perceived fear, volatility and uncertainty.  This is what makes the winners in both trading the markets and living life to the fullest.  Look around and you’ll see who is who.

I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
