I got on a bus the other evening. I was in my head reflecting, calculating and analysing something about the day, I can’t remember what exactly it was. About 5 minutes later, the doors swung open and the ramp was extended; out from the bus came a cute little kid in a wheelchair assisted by an older lady. He must have been about 5 or 6 years old and she might have been his mother. I was seated at the back, we caught eyes and he smiled at me. I automatically smiled back and forgot about whatever I was thinking about. This was a random shared moment and a heart connection was made. Here’s a kid dealing with health complications that’s likely more complicated than what I saw yet found it okay to smile and be happy. These kind of experiences always put life in perspective for me. I’m led to review my thoughts, perceptions and attitude about the present moment, appreciate life as it is and not get bogged down by my thoughts or worries. They are snapshots or pieces of Heaven on Earth and I keep them close to my heart.
I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
A similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago although the child was not in a wheelchair but she was suffering some kind of illness. She was smiling at me a lot and it melted my heart.
Such a sweet and profound experience Internalbasis. Thanks for sharing…
