I got on the train the other other day after a busy work session, I was relatively exhausted and yearning for peace and quiet en route home. The first carriage I entered was full of kids and it was a bit noisy; not exactly what I was looking for. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of kids but when they are in groups then I try to stay away! So I navigated through the next 2 carriages to discover different flavours of the same situation. I finally sat down on the fourth carriage and relaxed for the journey. Few station stops after this, a young couple with a buggy came on board. They stood right behind me and their baby was in tears the whole way. I laughed at myself because it seemed like I stepped into what I was trying to avoid. It reminded me of Greek mythology and the stories of characters who spent their lives trying to avoid a path they’d been given, only to end up unconsciously fulfilling it. I can’t fully explain why this experience occurred but I find it very interesting, random and memorable, so I’m sharing it with you.
I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
