Over the last few years, I’ve ventured into the Private Tutor space in London. I believe it’s somehow related to the fact that my Mom is a teacher and I also grew up tutoring my siblings and peers. I’m a numbers man so you can imagine I stay with Math, which I believe is the easiest subject ever! It’s black and white, very structured and you can take different paths to get to the same destination or answer. I’m fortunate to have been with a few kids (ages 9 -14) in this time and I notice similarities and differences with each from an individual, family and holistic perspective. It’s been an interesting journey. To be versatile, patient and spontaneous are a few of the pressures I face as I seek to educate or train young minds in this area. I realize this mirrors life as this relationship takes something out of me and pushes me in new directions which can be difficult and painful. Yet there’s nothing like the smile on a kids’ face after solving a seemingly complex problem. Sometimes, I can only imagine the other side of the fence; I trust it also hurts being a student.
I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
I have not yet gotten into the Education field but I would like to be within the next five years. I like how you talked about seeing the smile on their faces when getting something right; I often find my self just as happy as the student is when they get something right. It is an amazing feeling to know you are the reason that students got it right. I really enjoyed reading your blog thank you.
Awwww…thanks taylorprice23! It’s priceless…a very rewarding feeling. What field / subject are you looking to get into? Thanks for reading and sharing!
I am looking to do early child hood and special education. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. 🙂
That’s a very good area. Best of luck taylorprice21 and thanks for reading….stay tuned…much more to come!
