The other weekend, I met up with a friend who came into London from Paris for an MBA lecture. It was a small reunion with another friend who also lived in London; we had all been working with the same firm in Dublin many years ago. As usual, there were a lot of shared stories and jokes. Where other friends were, what they were up to and what had changed with us. It was good to see them again. He had married a mutual colleague and had the cutest baby girl. He spoke about their wedding, their travels and different experiences over the years. We had a good evening and wished each other the best with our current dreams and endeavors. En route home that night, this meeting had me thinking about life and how things change. He seemed pretty different from the person I knew years ago; even though we kept in touch via chat, meeting in person was very different. He was more mature, more focused, more responsible; I guess this is what life is all about. We are all growing, changing and getting better; this is always beautiful to see. It serves as a reminder that life is happening to us all.
