Friday evening, I was waiting for my girlfriend at Bank underground station. I’m like many other people because I also like people watching! Different faces, different strides, different personalities all fascinate and remind me how beautiful and diverse London is. Then I saw a girl crying. She was pushing a travel bag and was in a rush to get somewhere. Her face was down with eyes red, puffy and full of tears. She looked sad, lost and alone. And my heart went out to her. I didn’t know what was wrong but she was obviously in pain. I silently wished her better and hoped peace and pleasure filled her heart in due course. This all happened in under 3seconds. I saw her and then she was gone. I kept this moment with me for the rest of the evening. It reminded me that life is more than what we see and touch each day, that life always happens on two levels and we are more connected than we realize. I am grateful for my life and all I have ever experienced; it can get tricky or hazy sometimes but like Nasir Jones once wrote ‘life’s a bitch but God forbid the bitch divorce me.’
I would love to hear any feedback, suggestions or stories about your own journey…
